Bathroom Remodeling

REMOD’EL, v.t. [re and model.] To model or fashion anew. To make over in structure or style; reconstruct; make over

Bathroom remodeling consists of more than simply replacing various fixtures in the bathroom. This usually involves a different design layout, relocation of existing fixtures or adding major new features such as a whirlpool, sauna, steam room, walk in shower, tub to shower/shower to tub conversion, windows other than replacements or skylights. Most bathroom remodeling projects usually include some form of expansion. Thus walls and closets are taken out and moved for the new layout design.

According to the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), you should expect to spend between 5 to 10 percent of your home's value on a bathroom remodel.

The national average bath remodels ROI is 70.1%. That’s based on an average cost of $19,134 (standard remodeling), with an average return of $13,422. Obviously, exclusions apply, not least because there are cases in which remodeling a bathroom can facilitate the sale of your property and even add value beyond the amount spent on the project.
